This is a detail from a painting I just finished. Sometimes
parts of paintings are better than other parts. This kind
of density of surface is what I am after. Shapes and forms
disappearing and emerging simultaneously. Similar to
life...memories fading and new experiences arriving,
never perfectly clear, always changing and often just out
of reach.

I discovered you on Leslie Avon Miller's blogroll. Your work makes me smile. Your studio visit video is great too.
I am also encouraged and reassured when I read that you often paint over completely when something isn't working for you. (After all, that just becomes part of the history.)
It's nice not to feel alone in that.
hey Nicholas - loved the video!
Martha, thanks for checking out my work...I see that you work in a similar way..I love that. Also those cigarette machines are so Great! thanks!
Nicholas,
You artwork inspires me.
Thank-you for being brave enough to persue the gift that God gave you.
May 2009 bring you much success!

Hey Nick,
Happy New Year to you guys. I'm so looking forward to Esalen and Artplane again this year. I absolutely love those black and ecru paintings in your house and studio. The large long horizontal blue one looks really promising too.
Your studio video is great. Thanks for that.

outside. xx- Nick
